If you love making jewelry, whether for hobby or business, you’ll want to make sure that your jewelry box is full of different jewelry findings. These findings are of course, not only the different selections and pieces that you pick up here and there to include in your beautiful jewelry, but also the actual tools that you use to make your jewelry.

Crimp Beads

Crimp beads are definitely vital to jewelry makers that are working with beads and also aren’t a bad tool to have around for those that work with other different materials either.

Earring Wires

Earring wires are crucial if you plan on making any type of earrings at all. These tools allow you to make teardrop-shaped earrings, loop earrings, or flat head earrings.

Humble Jump Ring

One jewelry finding that no jeweler’s tool box is complete without is the humble jump ring. This tool will allow you to affix different types of clasps onto jewelry, and adjust them as needed. A humble jump ring will be needed when making rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Words You Should Know When Finding Jewelry

As with any type of industry, there are many different words that you should know the meaning of before going out and finding jewelry for yourself or a loved one. It can get very confusing when you are confronted by a whole bunch of jewelry jargon that you have no idea of the meaning, and some retailers may even try to take advantage of that. So be sure to do your research ahead of time, try to choose a reputable retailer, or better yet just take a knowledgeable friend along with you when finding jewelry online or in stores.

There are far too many words to list here so I will just have to start with the most common words that you may encounter. The word ‘antique’ in the world of jewelry means that it is over 100 years old, and the word ‘antiquing’ refers to a process that makes newer pieces look old. ‘Baguette’ is not something that you eat… it is a narrow rectangle-shaped stone. ‘Bezel’ is a type of setting that does not use prongs to secure the stone. ‘Bronze’ is an alloy of copper and tin, it is very heavy and usually not desirable for jewelry because of this.

While looking for necklaces you may come across a ‘choker’ which simply means that it is very short and doesn’t hang down much. Perhaps the most common word you will find is ‘carat’ which is a unit of weight for precious gems, including diamonds.

For more details you can find a glossary of terms online, and hopefully I will come back to this topic later to expand on it.

Are you tired of going to the local jewelry store and finding nothing you are looking for? If you have tried to find a specific kind of design or a certain ring, you might want to look other places than just a jewelry store. If you are searching for any type of jewelry, you want to know exactly what you’re looking for. If you know what it looks like and don’t know the exact name, you can describe it to a salesperson and they can bring you what you described. Here are a few places that you can search for jewelry that you want without a lot of hassle.

If you are tired of getting the run around at the local jewelry stores, you might want to broaden your search and check into pawn shops. They carry jewelry that is not as high as regular jewelry stores. You might be able to find the specific item you are looking for. They carry everything from rings to earrings. You can also find necklaces and bracelets there that are cheaper than buying it from a jewelry store.

Another place to search for the item you want is on the internet. Type in what you are looking for and the search engine will give you a list of the matching items and where to find them. It might be cheaper than you think by ordering it online. Searching for the jewelry you want online brings you a comfort that you will not find anywhere else.

Shopping Online for Jewelry

Whether you’re buying jewelry for yourself or a loved one, jewelry finding is easier on the internet. While it might seem a loss, sacrificing personal interactions with a jeweler or store representative, the prices available online for similar (or same) pieces compensates for the solitary web-tour. Many websites offer discounts of up to 50 to 60% off. However, navigating the limitless internet initially can prove challenging, and ensuring that you pay fair price for quality jewelry is a warranted concern. How, then, does one go about their jewelry finding quest? You can throw the word “jewelry” into a search engine and see what pops up, but then you’re still faced with questions regarding carat size, gem cuts, designer brands, and budget restraints.

When you begin your jewelry search you should first ask yourself what it is, specifically, that you are in the market for – gold, pearls, rubies, watches, necklaces, earrings – the choices are immeasurable. After you narrow down what it is you’re looking for, try to find places that offer certificates or guarantees, ask about refunds and origins of the pieces. Since jewelry can be an investment, it’s wise to take your time and review as many options as possible – ensure that you are making the best decision for yourself, and don’t feel too pressured. Jewelry finding websites offer enhanced search capabilities that do most of the work for you. All you have to do is take the time to consider your options and peruse the offers. At the very least, consider the internet on your next jewelry finding excursion.

Seeing The Fray Was the Best Thing That Has Happened to Me in a Long Time

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Lately, things have been going really well for me. First of all, Spring has arrived, and we all know that means a lot more sunshine throughout the day. I always feel better when it is nice outside, and recently has been no exception to this rule for me.

While the warm weather is great, this is just one of the factors that have contributed to the improvement in my mood. Surprisingly, two separate but good things happened to me in just one week. When last week finally arrived, I could barely contain my excitement about what I was going to do. Music has always played a big role in my life, and since The Fray is my favorite band, getting to see them live was amazing. The highlight of the concert was getting to hear The Fray play You Found Me (if you haven’t heard this song before, you have to check it out).

Obviously, it wasn’t as significant as experiencing The Fray live, but that doesn’t mean the other thing that happened to me wasn’t great. For once, I went out and decided to get something for myself instead of anyone else. I made the decision to go to a local jewelry store, and when I left, I had a piece of diamond jewelry in my bag. I was so happy that I decided to get the piece of diamond jewelry, and I have already received multiple compliments about it. Now that life has gotten so much better for me again, I can’t wait to see what the future has in store!

Finding Jewlery on the Internet

[Facebook] [Twitter]

If you are trying to find jewelry, I highly recommend using the Internet to help you achieve your desired goal. Whether you are looking for a specific piece of jewelry or just want to browse around and see what’s available in a specific style of jewelry (such as rings or bracelets), the Internet is still the best way to track down what you need.

Different people probably have different reasons why they like using the Internet to shop for jewelry, but for me personally, my favorite feature is the ability to filter and sort things so well. While that may not make much sense, let me give you an example that will make what I’m talking about a lot more clear. Let’s say that I know I want to get a gold bracelet, but I’m not exactly sure what kind I want. If I was looking for jewelry in regular stores, I would have to go from one store to another and visit the jewelry section. Then, I would have to look at the bracelet sections, and although I would probably find some gold bracelets, I would also have to sort through all of the other types of bracelets.

However, when I look online, I can apply a bracelet filter and a gold filter, and the only results that will be displayed in front of me will be gold bracelets (which can then be organized by price, size, etc.).
